Workshops on Holocaust

Encounter with contemporary witnesses

Since 2013, the Archive of Contemporary History has offered 2-3 hour workshops with guided tours of the archive on the topic of "The Holocaust, the Second World War and Switzerland" instead of direct encounters with contemporary witnesses. The event is based on material from the extensive source holdings that the AfZ has on the subject of the Holocaust. The aim of the workshop is to illustrate the knowledge acquired in class.

The focus is on various individual fates. They shed light not only on the situation of the victims, but also on the role of the perpetrators and the actions of Swiss refugee helpers and border guards. The participants discuss various aspects on the basis of audio and video documents, objects, photos and written material with our experts.
