Activity
The Foundation promotes the preservation, indexing and evaluation of the estate of Victor H. Umbricht (1915-1988). In the course of his career, the lawyer worked for the Federal Administration, the World Bank, Ciba Geigy AG, the ICRC and the UN.
His documents came into the archive in 1988/89. They have been fully digitized and are accessible online without restriction. The typewritten documents have been OCR-recognized and can be searched in full text.
The foundation also promotes the archive as a modern service and research center for contemporary history. Since 2019, it has been supporting a multi-year project to index so-called old holdings in the collection area of political contemporary history.
